Ferry Building MarketplaceIf you have ever been to Europe then you know how common it is to see a market with food stalls and restaurants. Sadly you do not see too many of those in the United States. However you can find one in San Francisco. The Ferry Building Marketplace features market stalls and restaurants that sell cheeses, fresh fruits and veggies, olive oils, fresh seafood and much more.

It is located on Embarcadero Street at the end of Market Street. And note that on Tuesdays and Saturdays there is a bustling farmers’ market outside.

Mission DoloresIf you find yourself in San Francisco and want to see something a little less t0uristy and a bit more historical then the Misión San Francisco de Asís is what you are looking for. Although you will more than likely hear it referred to as simply Mission Dolores.

The Mission Dolores was constructed back in 1776 and has managed to survive two major earthquakes and is still in tact. In fact, it is San Francisco’s oldest intact building. There are no official tours, but you can wander about on your own. Or you can even attend mass service. Mission Dolores does accept donations as well.

The Mission Dolores Basilica is located at the intersection of 16th and Dolores Street. For more info, check out www.missiondolores.org.
