Labor Day weekend festivities in New York City

If you find yourself in New York City this Labor Day weekend are looking for things to do, not to worry! There are plenty of things going on in the city that never sleeps.

Here are a few things you might want to check out:

2008 Labor Day Parade
This annual parade starts at 10am. It heads up 5th Avenue, beginning at 44th Street and ending at 72nd Street. Some expected marchers include Mayor Bloomberg, Senator Clinton, and Governor Paterson among others. Note that this parade takes place on Saturday, September 6, 2008.

The 24th Annual Brazilian Day Festival
On Sunday, August 31, 2008 you can check out The 24th Annual Brazilian Day Festival. It takes place on 6th Avenue from 42nd - 56th Street and on 46th St. from Madison - 7th Avenue.

M.E.C.A. Family Festival
On Monday, September 1, 2008 visit the M.E.C.A. Family Festival. You can find it on Lexington Avenue from 34th - 42nd Street.

US Open Tennis Championships
The US Open Tennis Championships started on August 23, 2008 and last through September 7, 2008. They are at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens. Visit usopen.org for more info.
