Omaha’s Old Market area

Omaha Old MarketIf you find yourself in Omaha, Nebraska one of the places you will likely be told you need to check out is the Old Market area.

You can find the Old Market area downtown near the river and the Con Agra headquarters. It is a cute little area that is bustling with old school charm. There are a lot of restaurants. In fact, you can find pretty much any ethnic cuisine you are looking for. There is even a candy shoppe and a little ice cream and soda shop. A lot of the restaurants even have some charming sidewalk dining available.

You will also find a lot of shopping in the Old Market area. There is everything from a leather goods store to art galleries.

And you are certain to not be at a loss for things to do in the Old Market. There are plenty of pubs & taverns, theaters and more. You can even live in the area if you want to buy a loft!

For parking, look for a street meter for your cheapest option. I like to park at the meters on Jackson by Cubby’s.

Looking for a themepark? Try Google Maps US Themepark map

August 21, 2008 · Filed Under Travel tips · Comment

I was on Google Maps and noticed something interesting. They have a US Themepark Map that you can click on.

It says it features locations of the nation’s top theme and amusement parks, as rated on ThemeParkInsider.com. This is not a site that I am familiar with though as I am not a themepark enthusiast.

However, if you are a themepark enthusiast then this could be an awesome resource for you. You could use it to see if any themeparks are on your route if you are taking a road trip.

Mystery Hill & Prehistoric Forest in Marblehead, Ohio

Mystery Hill & Prehistoric Forest
If you are taking a trip up to the Sandusky, Ohio area to visit Cedar Point amusement park and are looking for other things to do then you might want to check out Mystery Hill & Prehistoric Forest in Marblehead, Ohio.

Unfortunately, you cannot buy admission to just one. If you are purchasing an admission ticket then it is for both.

Pre-Historic Forest is a walking tour through a forest full of dinosaur replicas. If you have a kid under age 10 then this is probably a pretty good bet for a family outing. You and your family get transported through time back to when the dinosaurs ruled the land. You will see everything from a T-Rex to an Iguanodon.

Mystery Hill is one of those wacky places you can find throughout the US where the laws of gravity have been tossed out the window. A home was built on mystery hill and shortly after the homeowner complained of things like water running uphill! You can experience this house for yourself. There is also a mini-gold course on Mystery Hill that you can check out. Chances are that it is like no other mini golf game you have played since the laws of gravity won’t apply.

For more info on admission and directions, visit www.mysteryhill.com
