Top 10 Worst Airlines In The World

Posted by Nick on April 7, 2009

I have some opinions on the worst airlines in the world, but I wanted to see what others thought. Here are the top 10 worst airlines in the world based on the number of results in Google for the airline name + “worst airline.”

1. Alitalia - with 12,000 results

2. Spirit Airlines - with 10,400 results

3. Continental - with 7,180 results

4. Southwest - with 5,780 results

5. Delta - with 5,670 results

6. Northwest - with 4,510 results

7. American Airlines - with 4,350 results

8. Korean Air - with 4,180 results

9. British Airways - with 4,020 results

10. Ryanair - with 3,930 results

Personally, I find this list a bit surprising. Based on my experiences, American Airlines and Aer Lingus would have been all over this list. And British Airways would not have been on it at all. I was also surprised that easyjet did not make the top 10 and that Ryanair was not higher up.

Curious as to how other airlines fared? Check back for a follow-up post on the other airlines I checked out.
