Best pubs in Dublin for a Guinness

Posted by Nick on July 17, 2009

If you’re in Dublin, nothing beats having Guinness in a local pub. While there is no shortage of places serving Guinness in Dublin, here are two pubs that are worth checking out.

Neary’s
You’ll find this pub off Grafton Street. This is a popular pub, so don’t expect it to be empty when you arrive. Bar fare includes smoked salmon and mixed meat salads. The bar is downstairs and the lounge is upstairs. Be warned that pints are a bit more expensive here than in most other pubs.

Library Bar
The Guardian listed this bar as Dublin’s best kept secret. Comfy couches and well-loved books set the mood for the Library Bar. To enter you have to come through the hotel lobby, which is likely why this is the best kept secret in the city. If you like your pubs rowdy and loud, this is not the place for you.
