How to Calculate Taxi Costs to an Airport
Posted by Nick on February 5, 2010
Ever on a trip and wondering if the cash you have is enough to get you to the airport on that final cab ride? Taxi costs seem to fluctuate so much that you can never really guess if you’ll have enough or not. Fortunately, there are a couple of websites available that can take some of the guess work out of cab fares.
If you are trying to calculate taxi costs to an airport in the USA you can try out Taxi Fare Finder.com to get an idea of how much it will cost you. The cab fare estimate that you get won’t include any surcharges, so expect it to be slightly hire when you take the cab.
For international cab fare quotes, try out World Taximeter. It’s an international taxi fare calculator. The quotes from it also do not include surcharges, but if you scroll down the page a bit when you get your calculation you will see a section that lists useful information on things like surcharges. For example, when I get the taxi fare – how much from Waterloo Station to Kings Cross/St Pancras station in London, UK? And I scroll down the page to “Useful information about taxi services in London” I can see that there is a £2 additional fee for cabs called by phone and other helpful information.
Both of these sites have a mobile version that works on cell phone browsers as well.
