If you want to join the celebration of London’s design and creativity then you need to check out the London Design Festival. This year’s dates for the 2008 London Design Festival are from September 13 through September 23.

This year you can expect over 200 public projects and shows across the city in over 150 different venues. Venue include museums, shops, colleges, creative businesses and trade shows.

The 20/21 British Art Fair

If you find yourself in London this weekend you might want to check out the 20/21 British Art Fair. It started up just yesterday and goes through Sept. 14. Now in its 21st year, this art fair offers up great artists from the 20th century alongside rising stars of the future. Actor Josh Hartnett will be making in his West End debut as Charlie and Olivier nominated actor, Adam Godley, will star as Raymond in the West End performance of Rain Man.

Previews are through September 8, 2008. And performances start on September 10, 2008. The show takes place at the Apollo Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue in London.

West End Live Returns to Leicester Square

west end liveWest End Live returns to Leicester Square this year where you can see some of London’s best West End performances for free at Leicester Square’s largest outdoor theater festival.

At West End Live you get to see some of London’s best West End productions all on one stage as well as experience the sounds of some medieval instruments and see a sneak preview of some exhibits from Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum. It is scheduled for June 21 and June 22 this year. Hours are from 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM on Saturday and from 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Sunday.

Open Tai Chi Classes at Somerset House Trust in London

From June 3rd to June 26th this summer you will want to take advantage of the open Tai Chi classes offered at the Somerset House Trust in London.

Tai chi is an internal Chinese martial art that is something that people of all ages can enjoy. It takes many forms, with the hand form being the most popular. The slow movements of the hand form smooth the flow of energy, or qi (chi) around the body, encouraging balance, relaxation and focusing the mind.

This summer, you can take part in the open tai chi classes at London’s Somerset House Trust on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:15 AM until 9:15 AM. The classes last from June 3 – 26.
