Banff Ski Resort by joanna eleanor
Banff, Canada
Three separate ski areas at Banff-Lake Louise in Banff, Canada offer plenty of skiing opportunities for you and your family. An on-site ski school teaches in English and is especially good with kids. The resort is also home to some historic hot springs, where you can even rent some 1920′s-style swimsuits for the family.
Courchevel, France
Known as the ritziest ski resort in France, Courchevel is made up of four villages. Each village is numbered after its height in metres. Village 1850 is the poshest ski resort, with villages 1650, 1550 and 1300 being less ritzy. They are also less busy. The on-site ski school caters to children. Waistcoats with an electro-magnet on the back are given to the kids. The magnet attaches to chairlifts so the kids can’t fall off.

If you are visiting Italy and will be traveling through Tuscany, you may already be planning on stopping in Florence. Whether you’re just taking a day trip from Milan to Florence or spending a few days in the city, there are a few must see attractions in Florence. Here are some tips on what to see and do in Florence, Italy.
Plan your visit to see Michelangelo’s David at the Galleria dell’Accademia in advance. Lines to get in are usually pretty long and buying your tickets in advance can help. You may still have to wait in line, but it will be a shorter wait.
For a popular lunch restaurant, dine at the Cibrèo Ristorante at the Sant’Ambrogio Market, if you can. An alternative lunch spot you may want to try is Il Latini, which is a popular place to see celebrities.
The Duomo is a popular tourist spot, but what you may not know to check out is the crypt of the cathedral.
Don’t plan on doing much shopping between the hours of 1:30 p.m and 4 p.m. because most of the shops are actually closed for lunch during that period.
Other attractions in Florence that you’ll want to check out if you have the time include:
- the Piazza Republica
- the Pitti Palace
- the Ponte Vecchio
- the Piazza della Signoria
- the Palazzo Vecchio
- the Ufizzi Gallery

In July 2010, the government in Fiji announced legislation that opened up all of the surf spots in the entire country to anyone. Until this new legislation, local villages controlled access to the waters, some of which leased access to resorts. Some of those surf retreats you may have heard of are in Tavarua and Namotu.
If you want to go to Fiji to surf, you no longer have to be a guest at one of the surf resorts. The purpose of this, the Regulations of Surfing Areas Decree of 2010, is to poise Fiji as a premier surfing destination.
So, if you’re a surfer, what are you waiting for?
