Chile is home to the largest swimming pool in the world. You can find it at San Alfonso del Mar resort at Algarrobo. An aerial view of the resort is in the image below.
The pool is an amazing 1,013 metres in length and covers an area of around 20 acres. The saltwater pool is filled with filtered water from the nearby ocean, which is too rough and too cold for swimmers. You can swim, scuba dive, boat and enjoy other water activities in this pool, which sees around 7,000 visitors each day. The deep end of the pool measures 115 feet.

Ecuador is the 2nd smallest country in South America. If you are going to Ecuador to check out the rainforest or the Galápagos Islands you will need to know the best way to get around the country. Be sure to have your passport with you as you travel as customs does make spot checks in Ecuador.
By boat.
Boat travel is very popular in Ecuador. Motorized canoes serve as water taxis that can hold around three dozen passengers. Private yachts, sailboats and ferries make up the other boat travel options.
By bus or tram.
The bus is the system of transportation that most natives use in Ecuador. Just be prepared for a wild ride! Bus terminals are called “terminal terrestre” in Ecuador. The average cost for bus travel in Ecuador is $1 per hour of travel. Fixed bus stops are rare outside of Quito. If you see a bus, it will not stop unless you flag it down. When you was to get off the bus you have to scream ‘¡Baja!’ or ‘¡Gracias!’ for them to stop.
By train.
Ecuador’s rail system is very limited. There are just two tourist trains. One goes from Alausí along La Nariz del Diablo. The other is a weekend train that goes between Quito and the Area de Recreación El Boliche, which is near Cotopaxi.
By air.
Traveling by plane within Ecuador is pretty cheap but the planes are a lot older that you may be used to. Don’t worry though as the airlines do have good safety records. The airlines in the country are: AeroGal, Icaro and TAME.
By car.
You can travel by car or taxi if you prefer. To rent a car in Ecuador you must be at least 25 years old. While it is rate, you may also find motorcycles for rent. Look in Baños for the motorcycle rental place.
